Beginner Matcha

This Beginner Matcha is perfect for the novice matcha drinker. Whereas ceremonial matcha is made from the tallest leaves of the Tencha tea plant, this variant uses the lower-growing, stiffer tea leaves. The result is a deeper green colour, a slightly coarser grind and a robust, strong and tart umami flavour.

This matcha is perfect for everyday use in lattes or (baking) recipes, for example. But this matcha is also of excellent quality for drinking pure.

Matcha is a Japanese green tea that has been traditionally drunk for centuries. Whereas with the more well-known green teas you drink an infusion of the tea leaf, with matcha tea you drink the entire tea leaf ground into a fine, bright green powder. In this way, your body absorbs all the antioxidants from the tea leaf.
